Bear Season 2 was released for streaming on June 22, 2023.
FX will serve up even more anxiety-inducing kitchen drama with season 2 of bear, airing 10 episodes instead of the original eight.
Carmy and Sydney continue their efforts to turn The Original Beef of Chicagoland into an even better establishment during Season 2. Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach will all return alongside Booksmart breakout Molly Gordon who will make her Booksmart debut.
FX has announced that following its breakout success and Emmy win in 2022, Bear Season 2 was released for streaming on June 22, 2023, with 10 new episodes. Season two will follow Carmy, Sydney and Richie as they attempt to transform their grimy sandwich shop into a more upmarket eatery.
Transformation of a restaurant proves more challenging than anticipated for the team, who now face “juggling the insane bureaucracy of permits and contractors with the beauty and creative agony of menu planning” according to official description. Also joining this season are Molly Gordon (Winning Time) and Bob Odenkirk (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul).
FX recently unveiled the trailer for season three of The Bear. In it, Carmy and her crew can be seen working hard at turning Original Beef of Chicagoland into more upmarket eatery known as The Bear.
Season 2 will see many of the main cast members returning, such as Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Ayo Edebiri. Also anticipated are Lionel Boyce, Liza Colon-Zayas, Matty Matheson and Edwin Lee Gibson retaking their roles from season 1. We may even get another flashback episode with Joel McHale playing Carmy’s former New York boss and Jon Bernthal playing her late brother Mikey Berzatto (Carmy).
FX’s restaurant drama The Bear will return for a second 10-episode season this summer. Starring Jeremy Allen White as Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, an award-winning James Beard chef who returns to run their debt-ridden Chicago sandwich shop after his brother’s suicide, Carmy must navigate both the emotional toll of small business ownership with strong-willed employees and family relationships that may strain him to manage successfully.
The new season will find Carmy and Sydney (Ayo Edibiri) working to renovate their restaurant from its foundation up. Along the way they’ll encounter new characters – Booksmart breakout Molly Gordon will play Carmy’s former flame while Guardians of the Galaxy actor Will Poulter (Marcus) and Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk will take part in an unknown capacity.
Though the new season will differ from its predecessor, it promises to still deliver plenty of tension and heart. Episodes will run longer while still maintaining the show’s signature short runtime; this allows drama and comedy to shine equally well on-screen.
Hulu now offers streaming of The Bear season 2! It debuted June 22 and features ten episodes. The series centers around chef Carmy Berzatto who returns home to Chicago to take over his family’s Italian beef sandwich shop and transform it into an incredible space. Cast members include Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Abby Elliott and Lionel Boyce (The Punisher/Community respectively). In season one featured guest stars Jon Bernthal (The Punisher/Community).
It’s like Halt and Catch Fire meets Ramy; both dramas revolve around food as a business and young women in search of their calling in life. There are scenes which focus on running a restaurant (e.g. ticking clock or whiplash sequence with burning plate), while others provide transcendence such as when Sydney keeps visualizing her creations or visits real Chicago eating establishments for inspiration.
The second season features new characters and guest stars, such as Booksmart breakout Molly Gordon as Carmy’s love interest; Guardians of the Galaxy actor Will Poulter from Better Call Saul; as well as Bob Odenkirk from Guardians appearing in unspecified roles – not forgetting several unexpected cameos!
Certainly judging from its first season, The Bear’s sophomore installment should deliver another satisfying dose of drama. Set to air over 10 episodes this fall, Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) attempts to take his family’s disorganized sandwich shop one step further while mourning his brother’s passing.
Joanna Calo and Christopher Storer, co-showrunners for this series, have teased that this season will focus on “hospitality and taking care of others”, while providing an opportunity for characters to grow and develop. Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) will return and continue her ascent within the restaurant; Molly Gordon from Booksmart and Bob Odenkirk from Better Call Saul will appear as recurring roles.
Sarah Paulson will return as Michelle Berzatto, an outgoing cousin living in New York who doesn’t take herself too seriously but provides much-needed balance within Carmy and Natalie’s families by calling things out when necessary. Other returning cast members include Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Lionel Boyce, Matty Matheson and Abby Elliott who all know how to build and dismantle characters at once; making The Bear a truly captivating series which showcases its multidimensional cast dynamic.
