Former WWE star Fit Finlay responded to Conor McGregor’s Twitter post about being upset over not being invited to WrestleMania 38 this past weekend. It’s fair to say that Finlay had a number of his followers in splits with his reply.
A war of words appears to have broken out between a number of WWE stars and UFC icon Conor McGregor. This is after the former two-division champion took to Twitter to post about the latest WrestleMania event that took place last weekend.
While there were a number of twists and surprises at WrestleMania 38, none of them involved Conor McGregor making an appearance. The two-day showpiece event did feature a few former UFC stars but not McGregor. The 33-year-old has also been tipped to make a switch to professional wrestling in the near future.
The upset McGregor then took to the micro-blogging site on Sunday night to state he was too intimidating to be offered an appearance alongside the likes of Brock Lesner, Logan Paul and Ronda Rousey at the weekend’s two-day showpiece event. However, a number of former and current WWE stars have now fired shots in response to the UFC icon. But it would be hard to find a funnier response than that of Fit Finlay’s.
McGregor’s compatriot appeared to take the cake with his response as Finlay replied to Conor’s tweet with a reference to his former sidekick Hornswoggle during the duo’s WWE days. “Because Hornswoggle the only one your size, was booked elsewhere,” Finlay responded.
McGregor is currently in Ireland rehabbing the leg he broke during his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier in July 2021. However, the ‘Notorious’ is reportedly eyeing a comeback to the UFC once he recovers.
