Belal Muhammad was born in Chicago to Palestinian parents. He began wrestling in high school and soon took up MMA, making his debut when he was 24 years old.

Remember the name‘ quickly rose through the ranks and within four years he joined the UFC. Today he is the number 12 ranked welterweight fighter in the UFC.

Muhammad’s loss to Vicente Luque at UFC 205 saw him earn a mere $16,500 which has been his lowest fight-purse in the UFC, till date.

Muhammad’s highest payday came against Takashi Sato at UFC 242, against whom he won the Performance of the Night bonus. Muhammad took home an impressive $135,000 that day.

For his first fight against Alan Jouban he earned $64,500. His career earnings in the UFC is approximately $820,500.

Belal Muhammad made his MMA debut on the 18th of August , 2012 in the Hoosier Fight Club promotion. He switched between Hoosier Fight Club and Bellator until he went 6-0 up in his MMA career.

He then landed in the UFC on the 7th of July, 2016. He made a poor start to his UFC career, losing his first fight via. unanimous decision to Alan Jouban. In the same year he lost to Vicente Luque via. KO at UFC 205.

Muhammad then got back to form, winning 4 fights in a row. Geoff Neal then snapped his 4-match winning streak in January 2019.

Since then, Muhammad hasn’t lost a single fight, and his MMA record is an impressive 18 wins, just 3 losses and 1 No-contest. The no-contest was his most recent fight against Leon Edwards, where Edwards had eye-poked Muhammad causing him severe distress.
