Bellator or WWE? Where should Rachael Ostovich move next?

Rachael Ostovich was recently released by the UFC but Bellator, WWE and a host of other options are present for her

One of the UFC’s most popular faces, Rachael Ostovich, became the latest to be cut from the roster after a tough 2020.

Ostovich had lost her last three fights and held a rather below par record of four wins and six losses. Her performances over the past two fights wasn’t all that great and Dana White had confirmed that at least 60 names would be cut from the roster.

Ostovich might not have been the biggest star to be cut after Yoel Romero and Anderson Silva were released, but she still had a lot to give to the promotion.

She is still only 29 and has a few years left at the top of the game. Ostovich wasn’t all that hurt by the release and was looking at the positive side of things.

The American does have a tough decision regarding her future but she has several avenues to look forward to.

Bellator or WWE or something totally different?

The world of combat sports has changed drastically over the past 10 years or so. MMA is one of the fastest rising sports in the world and there are several big promotions that can do with new faces joining.

Bellator is a name that keeps popping up and Ostovich could certainly join that promotion. They have a few ex-UFC stars on their roster and recently landed Anthony Johnson, which caught everyone by surprise.

Johnson was set to join UFC later this year but things took a serious turn and Rumble will now feature for Bellator in 2021.

Ostovich didn’t turn down the suggestions of joining another promotion with ONE and Rizin also being lauded as options.

However, there could be another route for her to follow. Ostovich seemed open to moving to WWE too. Wrestling has seen the invasion of several MMA stars in recent years and some have fought for other promotions while being on AEW.

Jake Hager is a prime example of that as he competes on Bellator and AEW. WWE has a plethora of ex-MMA stars on their roster and Ostovich could also add more quality to an incredible roster there.

The money in WWE might not be as good for Ostovich since she is a starter, but her name would be her biggest asset.

Further, WWE guarantees a certain salary per month, which isn’t the same when it comes to MMA.

Other options

Ostovich categorically slammed suggestions of starting an OnlyFans account and there could be other moves up her sleeve.

She did speak about starting her own cosmetics range before her previous fight and then there is Bare Knuckle fighting.

Paige VanZant, another popular face in the UFC, joined Bare Knuckle fighting and Ostovich also quipped about this a while back.

Moving to a wrestling promotion should make the most sense for any fighter at the moment. There are fewer risks of injury and more time to be on TV, which makes them more relevant.

In the UFC or any MMA promotion, only the top stars get the big bucks and the TV coverage. Many stars have called out the UFC over this, and it will be interesting to see what Ostovich does.

She would not be the first MMA star to try her luck in wrestling and some promotion like Impact or AEW could snap her up.

However, the 29-year-old has a ton of options ahead of her and the UFC release might turn out to be a good move for her.
