Predicted Newcastle United XI to face Everton in the Premier League
Newcastle United showed plenty of resilience to turn their fortunes around with three consecutive victories in the Premier League but the Magpies once again lost momentum after being thrashed 3-0 by West Ham last week.
Rafael Benitez’s men currently sit 15th in the standings and they would be desperate to get at least a point from their mid-week game against Everton away from home.
Everton lost 1-0 against Liverpool in the Merseyside derby on Sunday and the Toffees will be looking to get their campaign back on track after a heartbreaking defeat.
Team News
Matt Ritchie is suspended for having picked up five yellow cards while Paul Dummett is doubtful to feature on Wednesday. Yoshinori Muto is on his way to recovery from a calf injury and will be pushing for a return while Jamie Sterry and Florian Lejeune are long-term absentees.
Formation: 4-4-1-1
Manager: Rafael Benitez
Predicted XI
1. Martin Dubravka (GK)
He wasn’t particularly at fault for any of the goals in the last game and has been in good form between the sticks in recent weeks.
2. DeAndre Yedlin (RB)
He had a poor game against West Ham and was exposed far too often. He will need to improve
Significantly if Newcastle are to keep Everton at bay.
3. Jamaal Lascelles (CB)
He did not start the last game but should be fit enough to start in the mid-week clash.
4. Federico Fernandez (CB)
The Argentine put in a solid display in the heart of the defence in the last game and he will be expected to keep up his good work.
5. Javier Manquillo (LB)
He was quite poor defensively in the last game and will have his work cut out against Theo Walcott on Wednesday.
6. Christian Atsu (RM)
The Ghanaian has failed to make an impact off the bench this season but the absence of Ritchie should open the door for him to get a start.
7. Jonjo Shelvey (RCM)
Mo Diame had a poor game against West Ham so Benitez should hand the former Liverpool man a start on Wednesday.
8. Sung-yueng Ki (LCM)
He has been doing well in recent weeks and should be one of the first names on the team sheet for this one as well.
9. Robert Kenedy (LM)
The Chelsea loanee failed to impress against West Ham but he has been one of the brightest sparks of Newcastle’s lacklustre campaign.
10. Ayoze Perez (CAM)
He was very wasteful with his chances in the last game and Newcastle will need better end product from him.

11. Salomon Rondon (ST)
He propelled the Magpies to a victory over Bournemouth with a brace and he will once again be their best bet to find the net on Wednesday.
