Published by

You finally got that nice gaming PC but it turns out you’ll need to spend some more to get some of the games that you always wanted. Here is our list of the Best free PC games so that you can wait for the next sale and get your favorite games.

Free-to-play games have grown in popularity in recent years, and it’s easy to see why. They’re great time fillers, and they’ve gotten so good that you’ll never feel shackled for not spending actual money on them. You can’t go wrong with a free game if you have some spare time, especially if you’re playing on a PC, which has a plethora of free-to-play options. However, with so many games to try, finding a game worth downloading might be difficult.

You could stick to free Steam games, but there’s a lot of nice stuff outside of Valve’s online video game store if you don’t mind exploring. From military to sci-fi to fantasy, from MMOs to block-builders to card battlers, you can enjoy a lot of free-to-play games. Here is our list of the Best free PC games.

Best Free PC games

1. Valorant

Valorant was released worldwide on June 2, 2020, and it immediately drew in millions of gamers. In the game, players choose whether to play on the Defending or Attacking side, and the ‘Winner’ is the first team to win 13 rounds. The nicest part of Valorant is that it has a variety of playable agents that can all be unlocked for free. Each agent has their own set of abilities, providing gamers with a great deal of variation. There will never be a moment when you feel that the game is repetitive. If you are bored with the game, switch to a different agent and the game will feel completely different.

2. Fortnite

If there’s one thing Epic Games can be proud of, it’s Fortnite, a free-to-play battle royale game. This game is played by millions of people all around the world, however, there is an army of gamers that despise it. In Fortnite, 100 people are dropped on an island with nothing. Then they go out in search of weapons and other materials in order to kill their opponents and be the last one standing. Fortnite, like all of the other free PC games on our list, is worth checking out, especially if you’re new to battle royale games. The game can be daunting at first, but once you get the feel of it, you’ll fall in love with it.

3. Genshin Impact

Its open world is enormous and breathtakingly beautiful, yet there are plenty of resources to collect, make, and cook with, as well as puzzles and minibosses that can be defeated by employing elemental powers to manipulate the environment rather than initiating a brawl. Furthermore, as the game progresses, players will encounter a variety of playable characters with various magical skills. During a fight, players can swap between characters rapidly and mix magical elements to deal more harm to adversaries. If you’re looking for some new free PC games, Genshin Impact should be at the top of your list.

4. Spellbreak

In this fantasy-themed game, you take on the role of a Battlemage, a wizard who has no need for conventional guns. Spellbreak replaces your dominant hand’s weaponry with various elemental gauntlets. Do you want to unleash strong fireballs, long-range ice missiles, or toxic goo waves that slowly poison your opponents? That’s something you can do. On the battlefield, you’ll also find extra gauntlets to equip on your off hand, giving you access to two components at once as you fight for victory.

5. Guild Wars 2

Guild Wars 2 is one of the most popular MMOs on the market. What’s more, you can play a large portion of it for free. There’s a lot to do, from standard NPC questing to zone events where everyone can suddenly get involved and work as a big team to take down a boss or save a burning village. The free-to-play main game is massive, and you can buy the Path of Fire and Heart of Thorns expansions if you enjoyed it. You can also read about the third expansion pack End of Dragons coming to Guild Wars 2.

6. TeamFight Tactics

Riot’s free autobattler game takes the League of Legends characters and lore and puts them on a chess-like board to fight until only one player’s team is left standing. When you play against several opponents, you can choose a hero from a shared pool and gradually construct a team by earning coins and trading heroes. In this fast-paced autobattler, strategy is key, whether it’s ensuring your heroes balance each other, including a counter for each enemy type, or mixing items to boost character attributes. Regular updates and balancing tweaks, like rotating the hero pool or adding new items, keep Teamfight Tactics fresh and dynamic.

7. Destiny 2

With its action-packed gameplay, Destiny 2 is one of the greatest free PC games that will keep you hooked. In Destiny 2, players take on the role of Guardians, who are tasked with protecting the rest of humanity from aliens. To combat multiple hordes of enemies, you can swap between various futuristic weapons. In addition, players can choose from a variety of guardian classes, each with its own set of skills. Despite the fact that it is free, Destiny 2 features stunning graphics and exciting gameplay. In addition, Destiny 2 has four expansion packs, the most recent of which being Beyond Light. A fifth, dubbed The Witch Queen, will be released soon.

8. Warframe

Digital Extremes developed and distributed Warframe, a multiplayer role-playing third-person shooter game. This game is so good that it’s hard to believe it’s available for free on the PC. In Warframe, you play as Tenno, an ancient warrior race that awakens after ages to find themselves in the middle of a planetary conflict. The game’s plot and combat are so compelling that if you start playing it, you’ll end up playing it for years. Since the game’s first release, the developers have released multiple updates to improve the game’s aesthetic and mechanical aspects.

9. Apex Legends

Apex Legends has firmly established itself as one of the top battle royale games. Developed by the same team that brought you Titanfall, Apex Legends takes the Battle Royale formula and adds a cast of unique Apex Legends characters who infuse each round with fresh tactical possibilities based on your team composition. You’ll be going down slopes, clambering over buildings, and launching yourself into the skies to reposition, and you’ll have character skills that make you feel like you have a chance to seize the advantage in combat, even against the elite squads. Check out what’s coming next in Apex Legends Season 11.

10. Paladins

Paladins is a team-based hero shooter in which players compete in teams of colourful, ability-rich heroes. Yes, it resembles Overwatch in certain ways, but it shares many of Blizzard’s titan’s strengths as a tactical murder simulator at a fraction of the price. You can play as a mecha-goblin or a massive rolling bomb, and team up with your friends to take off your opponents’ numbers before diving for the target. Everyone receives their own horse as a bonus. This is a fantastic game with a lot of potential and I personally have spent hours playing it.

This was our list of the Best Free games on PC. There were also some honorable mentions like Call of Duty Warzone and the legends like CS: GO, League of Legends, and DOTA 2. But since those are pretty well known, we decided to skip them.
