At the end of the year, one thing is clear: video games have had an amazing year, despite all the delays and industry upheaval. The year 2022 is going to end and we have already got lots of amazing titles. This year was just a gift for gamers. However, everyone’s time is very important. Therefore, we have made a list of the best games of 2022 that you should play.

God of War
God of War

Spider-Man: Miles Morales

As in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the core gameplay is the same. Because the game takes place during the holidays, it features the same open world, a fictionalized version of Manhattan that is covered in snow. Unlike Peter Parker, Miles controls similarly, but he unlocks new animations and abilities as the story progresses.

Among the new powers are Venom Blast, which uses bio-electricity to incapacitate enemies, and recharge or drain electronics; Camouflage, which gives Miles temporary invisibility; and Mega Venom Blast, which damages all enemies in range with a massive explosion of bio-electricity.

Among the new gadgets in the game are Remote Mines, which can be attached to enemies or electric panels; holographic fighters can be summoned to assist in combat; and Gravity Wells, which trap multiple enemies. Players can upgrade Miles’ abilities and gadgets by using a skill tree system as they level up. Additionally, Miles’ Spider-Man app informs him about crimes in New York City and their locations. For Marvel fans, this is one of the best best games of 2022.

Pentiment

The narrative adventure video game Pentiment takes place in Bavaria during the 16th century. As Andreas Maler, a journeyman artist investigating a murder for which his friend has been accused, the player investigates the case. There is no canonical revelation of the real murderer in the story, which spans 25 years. The player can accuse individuals based on who they believe is responsible or who deserves punishment. Other crimes and conspiracies are concurrent with the main murder plot.

Its art style is influenced by late medieval manuscripts, early prints, and woodcuts at the point when late medieval art transitioned into early modern art. Alkemie Early Music Ensemble composed and performed the game’s music. The response of Pentiment to your choices always feels genuine and entertainingly mysterious because there are branching narrative consequences and Maler’s background and expertise options.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (Warzone 2.0)

As with its predecessor, Warzone 2.0’s main mode, Battle Royale, involves players competing to be the last to remain on a constantly shrinking map. Players parachute onto a large game map, where they encounter other players. Playable areas shrink as players are eliminated, forcing the remaining players into tighter spaces as the game progresses.

Warzone 2.0 includes a new feature called Circle Collapse, which spawns multiple circles in the map, closes them independently, and then converges on one safe zone at the same time. Upon death, players are sent to the “Gulag”, a small arena where the dead fight for a chance to reappears.

The Gulag matches in Warzone 2.0 are 2v2, and sometimes there is an AI combatant called “the Jailer”, which players can hunt down to get a key and escape. Additionally, there are several buy stations scattered across the map where players can buy various items, including custom loadouts with personalized weapons and perk configurations. This was definitely one of the best games of 2022.

Rainbow 6 Extraction

The cooperative multiplayer game Rainbow Six Extraction supports up to three players. The operators must infiltrate an alien-infested location in order to collect samples, extract materials from computers, and gather intel in order to complete objectives. During an “incursion”, players will be randomly assigned any one of the twelve objectives in each of the three interconnected sub-maps.

The game uses the same weapons and cast of characters as Ubisoft’s famous first-person shooter Rainbow 6 Siege, but forgoes squad-based multiplayer in favour of a horror-flick romp through an obscene, viscerally frightening alien apocalypse.

Sifu

Featuring over 150 unique attacks, Sifu is an action beat ’em up game inspired by Bak Mei kung fu. It is played from a third-person perspective. Basic attack moves can be chained together, but some combos can give players tactical advantages, such as knocking down enemies or stuning them. A structural gauge is present for the protagonist and every hostile enemy character.

A player’s guard will break once the gauge is filled, leaving them vulnerable to finishing attacks. Players can also block strikes, but this will gradually fill their gauge. Additionally, players are able to dodge attacks or parry when a blow is about to land. Successful parries allow players to stun or throw enemies. Players can use the surroundings to their advantage in the game and improvise new attacks or change their approach when up against a more powerful opponent. Talking about action fighting games, this is among the best games of 2022.

God of War: Ragnarok

In God of War Ragnarök, players take on Norse mythological foes from the over-the-shoulder viewpoint, while cinematographically, there is no camera cut or loading screen. Like the previous installment, God of War (2018), the gameplay is similar to that game. As players battle Norse mythological foes, more enemy types are in place than in the previous installment.

There are epic battles between literal gods and monsters in God of War: Ragnarok, one of the most expensive and biggest games of the year. The entire game feels great and works well, even on the aging PS4. However, what makes Kratos and Atreus’ latest journey so great is the attention to the characters and their relationships.

Disney Dreamlight Valley

There are various biomes populated by Disney and Pixar characters in the titular “Dreamlight Valley” in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Similar to Nintendo’s Animal Crossing games, the game features nonlinear gameplay where players control a human player character living in a valley. Depending on what the player set on their console or computer, the valley syncs to real time.

By exploring the valley, the player will be able to gather resources and use their magic to get rid of a plant called “Night Thorn”, which spawns all over the place with dark magic. In addition to cooking meals at cooking stations such as ovens and campfires, crafting stations can be used to craft materials and furniture from resources.

In order to replenish energy, the player must use magic-infused tools such as a pickaxe, a shovel, a fishing rod, and a watering can, which can be used to pick food. Meals can replenish more energy than the foods grown, harvested, or purchased in the valley, and can give the player a boost to their movement speed.
