Elden ring rune farming spot

Here is our guide where you can find the Best Rune Farming Spots in Elden Ring. Use these spots to get more runes and level up faster!

FromSoftware titles have a reputation for being some of the most challenging games ever made. Elden Ring is no exception, but skill alone isn’t always enough. Elden Ring players will occasionally need to acquire runes in order to level up in order to have a chance of surviving whatever threat they’re up against in the game.

The process of obtaining Runes in Elden Ring is far more time-consuming than in previous FromSoftware titles. Because the game is open-world, practically all of the typical area mobs don’t drop a large number of Runes when killed, leaving you with only a handful of runes rather than filling up your inventory.

Elden Ring Best Rune Farming Spots

Stormhill Rune Farming Spot

The quickest and easiest place to farm runes is Stormhill, immediately west of Limgrove, which is accessible as soon as you get access to horse Torrent after meeting Melina at a Site of Grace.

While it may be safer to fight the two chained trolls dragging the caravan and the foes behind it, along the main path to the Gatefront in West Limgrave, there is a point where you can fight five trolls at once, earning you a total of 5,000 runes (1,000 runes per troll).

Caelid Rune Farming Spot

The easiest farming spot on our list is Castle Redmane, a massive castle in Southern Caelid. You don’t have to go inside because there are fire-wielding knights and gigantic dogs fighting in front of the castle, and you can just stand there and watch them kill each other while getting Runes.

Simply ride up the hill and watch them fight at the Impassable Greatbridge Site of Grace. Then you can always ride in and kill the weaker ones, earning you around 2000-3000 Runes with little effort.

Elden Ring Gameplay

Agheel Lake North Viking Camp

The Agheel Lake North Site of Grace is located just east of the Gate Front Ruins. A tiny viking camp is located just northeast of the Site of Grace, with a few horseback enemies between the camp and the Site of Grace. You’ll get about 300 runes per horseback enemy, and clearing out the entire camp of wolves and vikings will net you about 2,000 runes each time.

The only enemies who are a little more difficult to defeat are those on horseback, however, a few jumping heavy attacks will throw them off their mounts and expose them to a critical hit.

Windmill Village Rune Farming Spot

You’ll want to enter the Outer Wall and then follow the way north until you reach the Outer Wall Battleground Site of Grace, as you’ll be arriving from the south west of Altus Plateau. You’ll discover a gate here that leads to the Windmill Village, which is located in the region’s far north.

Because the villagers are dispersed, it’s best to concentrate on the first two groups from the Site of Grace. You can find them by following the sound of their singing. The first group is only three villagers, while the second is a little larger, so you could feel overwhelmed, but you’ll receive over 3,000 runes in less than a minute from these alone, and then you can simply go back or fast-travel to the Site of Grace and rinse and repeat as needed.
