Andrade issues a challenge to MLW Champion LA Park after WWE release
Former WWE Superstar Andrade has given a hint as to what could be next in store for him after his release from the promotion.
Andrade spent close to six years with WWE, having signed for the promotion in November 2015 after having tasted plenty of success with NJPW as ‘La Sombra’. The ‘Cien’ enjoyed plenty of success in NXT, alongside manager Zelina Vega.
However, upon getting called up to the main roster, things did not go all too well for Andrade. Even though he had a run as the United States Champion that lasted 151 days, things had been going stale for him, more so after the departure of Vega last year.
Andrade last participated in a televised match for WWE in October 2020 and having grown frustrated with his lack of screen-time, asked for a release from the company earlier this month. While WWE initially rejected his request, the company eventually granted him a release, that too with a no 90-day non-compete clause either.
Now a free agent, with the freedom to choose to wrestle for any promotion following his release, Andrade seems to have his eyes set on Major League Wrestling (MLW) Tag Team Champion LA Park. An interesting exchange took place between the two on Twitter on Sunday, hinting at what could be next for the former WWE Superstar.
LA Park, who is one half of the MLW Tag Team Champions, issued a challenge to ROH World Champion Rush, betting his title for the one held by Toro Blanco. However, it was Andrade who answered his fellow Luchador’s challenge, with a message in Spanish that translates to:
“What’s up Adolfo @laparktapia If I bet my hair, I just looked for a good promoter. At last I am free. Greetings.”
It remains to be seen if Andrade does end up in MLW now that he is no longer with WWE. A stint in rival promotion AEW cannot be ruled out either.
