Tennis fans will have another action-packed Friday courtesy of the BMW quarterfinals. With Holger Rune facing Emil Ruusuvuori in one QF and Miomir Kecmanovic squaring off against Nikoloz Basilashvili in the other QF, here’s a look at the previews of the two games.
BMW Open: Holger Rune vs Emil Ruusuvuori QF preview and H2H stats
Holger Rune grabbed the attention of Tennis fas on Wednesday when he beat Alexander Zverev in the last 16. The young Dane not only caused an upset by beating the German, but he did so straight sets 6-3, 6-2.
The 18-year-old will Rune will now face Emil Ruusuvuori in the quarter-finals of the BWM Open. Ruusuvuori beat Maxime Cressy 6-3, 6-3 in straight sets and the Finn will be hoping to continue his good run in Germany.
Rune and Ruusuvuori have never faced each other on the ATP Tour before. Friday’s encounter will be their first game. However, given that Ruusuvuori has a bit more experience than Rune, he is expected to come out on top in this clash.
BWM Open: Miomir Kecmanovic vs Nikoloz Basilashvili QF Preview and H2H stats
Miomir Kecmanovic got the better of Daniel Altmaier 6-2 6-4 in the 2nd round in Munich on Wednesday. The Serbian is now set to face Nikoloz Basilashvili in the quarter-finals of the BMW Open. Basilashvili, who is the defending champion of the BWM Open, beat Ilya Ivashka 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 in a match that lasted nearly two hours.
These two players have never faced each other on the tennis court. Friday’s encounter will be the first time fans will watch Kecmanovic and Basilashvili compete against one another. Our prediction for the contest is a win in three sets for Basilashvili.
