Bobby Labonte is one of the most successful NASCAR drivers. He is the winner of the Cup Series, Busch Series, Coca-Cola 600, Southern 500, Brick 400, and IROC. At 61, Bobby Labonte is still a part of the SMART Modified Tour. He drove premium cars of Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Chevrolet, and Ford. Bobby Labonte’s personal car collections include his race cars and vintage vehicles. Labonte made his full-time debut in the 1990 Busch Series in  Oldsmobile. In his debut NASCAR Cup season, he drove an Oldsmobile. He then drove other vehicles like Dodge Charger, Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Toyota Camry and Pontiac.

Bobby Labonte participated in five IROC seasons in Pontiac cars. He won the 2001 IROC championship in his Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. Bobby Labonte’s personal car collections include replicas of Cheerios Dodge and Interstate Batteries Chevrolet. Labonte also drove a Buick vehicle in two seasons of the Busch series for his own racing team, Labonte Motorsports.

Bobby Labonte Car Accidents

Bobby Labonte suffered accidents both on and off the tracks. In the 2001 Daytona 500, Bobby Labonte’s hood flew into Tony Stewart’s vehicle which flipped. Tony Stewart suffered minor injuries and Labonte immediately exited to rescue Stewart. In 1999, Labonte was part of a crash at Darlington Raceway where his shoulder was broken. After a few days, Bobby Labonte surprised everyone by participating in the next event.

In 2013, Bobby Labonte suffered a major accident and it was a non-racing incident. Bobby was riding a bicycle near North Carolina. The tires burst and he collapsed. Bobby Labonte suffered lung and ribs injury after the incident. He was also involved in accidents in the 2002 and 2003 Daytona 500 events where his cars were damaged.

#18 has been the iconic car number of Bobby Labonte. He won the 2000 NASCAR Cup Series championship for Joe Gibbs Racing in #18 Pontiac and finished runner-up in the 1999 season. In the 1991 Busch series, he drove #44 and #94 Oldsmobile cars and won the series. Labonte won the 2001 International Race of Champions with #18 Pontiac Firebird. Some of Bobby Labonte’s Chevrolet numbers were #71, #9, #10, #51, #52, and #37.

Bobby Labonte’s successful stint in NASCAR helped him secure brand deals. He got many sponsors for paint schemes. His #18 green Chevrolet Monte Carlo was sponsored by Interstate Batteries. His #22 Blue Pontiac car had paint schemes from Maxwell House. Bobby Labonte also drove #18 green Pontiac Grand Prix sponsored by Interstate Batteries. His #43 Blue and Yellow colored Dodge Charger had paint schemes from Cheerios, Goodyear, and Sunoco.
