Bobby Wagner is in the final year of his three-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks. After the 2022 season, he will have to negotiate a new deal. Whether it will be over $18 million each season, remains to be seen. His current deal is worth $54 million spread across three seasons. He also received a $15 million signing bonus with $40 million of the total payoff guaranteed.
Wagner has been with the Seahawks throughout his career. He initially signed on a $4.30 million contract spread across four years. His rookie deal had $2.51 million guaranteed and came with a $1.57 million signing bonus. In 2015, he received a $43 million extension with over $19 million guaranteed and an $8 million signing bonus.
Bobby Wagner’s net worth is said to be worth over $10 million, according to various sources. The professional linebacker has been in the NFL for a long time now, going into his tenth season in 2022. During his career, he has racked up close to $100 million in earnings through his contracts with the Seahawks.
That should be enough to make him one of the wealthiest people in America. Of course, to increase his net wealth, he will have to save and invest smartly. With endorsement deals from BodyArmour and Nike, Wagner makes a decent sum outside of the pitch as well. He has had to pay $48,000 in fines during his playing career but that is hardly a drop in the bucket for his overall estate.
Bobby Wagner went to Colony High School and earned plenty of honours playing football. He was a two-star recruit, earning a full scholarship to Utah State University. He was a starter in all four years of his college career. The California-born athlete recorded 445 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and four interceptions for Utah before declaring for the NFL drafts.
He fulfilled projections of being a second-round pick and signed with Seattle along with his Utah state teammate, Robert Turbin. Wagner made his debut against the Arizona Cardinals, recording four tackles in the 20-16 loss. He was established as the starting middle linebacker from his rookie campaign and continued on into his second season. He recorded 12 combined tackles, deflected a pass, and intercepted a pass attempt by Tom Brady in the Seahawks 28–24 in Super Bowl XLIX.
Soon after, Wagner signed a contract extension but was not named in the NFL top 100 list. He felt disrespected at the time. Wagner did receive the 2017 Steve Largent Award for his spirit and determination for the Seahawks.
