Evander Holyfield will be taking on Vitor Belfort in an eight-round professional boxing match on the 11th of September
Evander Holyfield will be returning to the boxing ring for the first time in more than ten years, when he faces former MMA superstar Vitor Belfort.
‘The Real Deal’ will be looking forward to rolling back the years against the much younger Belfort (Holyfield is 58, while Belfort is 44).
The fight will be for eight rounds, and will be held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Triller will be in charge of the event.
With the fight only a day away, Holyfield recently sat down with Mike Heck of MMA Fighting to speak about the fight.
Fans spotted Holyfield struggling to speak, sparking rumors of severe CTE.
However, Holyfield brushed off such concerns and promised that he was all good.
Here are some of the reactions to Holyfield’s slurred speech:
Evander Holyfield was a marauder during the 1990s
Evander Holyfield was unstoppable in the 1990s. He started off the decade with a bang, with knockout wins over Seamus McDonagh and Buster Douglas.
He then went on to beat Mike Tyson twice within the span of 7 months.
The only opponent he struggled against was Riddick Bowe, who beat Holyfield twice, although the ‘Real Deal’ managed to win once.
