Jake Paul tore into boxer and mixed martial artist Claressa Shields, following the latter’s first loss in her professional fighting career
Claressa Shields, the self-proclaimed ‘GWOAT’ tasted defeat for the first time in her professional fighting career.
Taking on Abigail Montes at PFL 10, Shields suffered a split-decision defeat after she was dominated on the ground by the Mexican.
This was only Shields’ second fight in her MMA career. The undefeated champion boxer decided to test the MMA waters earlier this year, and started off with an impressive win over Brittney Elkin at PFL 4 this year.
Just when it looked like she would carry her winning momentum, she slipped to a disappointing loss.
Following her loss, YouTuber-turned-professional boxer Jake Paul fired shots at Shields.
Shields had called it a disrespect for a Boxer like her to feature in the undercard of a Jake Paul headliner.
Paul, saw this as the right time to hit back at Shields. In a quite elaborate message, Paul explained how anger and hate always lead to defeat, citing examples of Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor.
Here is what Paul shared:
“The truth hurts but it’s necessary. Claressa Shields is a loser. In MMA, and even more so with her prima donna attitude. The fake always get exposed. Losses come when anger and hate take over. Just ask Rousey and McGregor. She spent more time berating Jake Paul than learning Jiu Jitsu. She’s never been a big draw and unfortunately for her she will never be. Amanda Serrano (the GWOAT) though, has 30 KOs in 42 fights. 2-0 in MMA, both wins by submission. Congrats Abigail Montes on the win.”
He also captioned his Tweet:
“I love karma @Claressashields, Congrats Abigail Montes! Someone get her a Twitter!”
Jake Paul is expected to face Tyson Fury’s half-brother Tommy Fury next. His recent Tweet about Fury saw the ‘Problem Child’ fire shots at boxing great Canelo Alvarez and Gervonta Davis.
The former Disney star mocked the two star boxers’ early opponents.
Paul wrote:
“c7-0 Fury doesn’t cut it for my 5th fight. I’m fighting either Hector Lopez or Javier Martinez next!! Hector was “Tanks” 8th opponent, came in 0-0 and retired 0-1. Hector was an MMAer who was 2-0. Javier was Canelos 10th opponent, entered the fight 0-0 and retired at 0-1.”
