Jake Paul became one of the two people to have ever knocked Tyron Woodley out in a fight
Jake Paul came up trumps against Tyron Wooodley when the pair faced off in a rematch on the 18th of December at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.
After getting off to a slow and drab start, the fight was on its way to be decided by the judges, just like it was, the last time. However, Paul unleashed a big right hand that landed flush on Woodley, knocking ‘The Chosen One’ out cold.
This was Paul’s fifth straight win in his professional boxing career – still undefeated.
By knocking out Woodley, Paul joined a special list featuring just one other combat sport athlete. ‘The Problem Child’ became one of the two people to have ever knocked Woodley out.
The first person to knock Woodley out was Nate Marquardt in July 2012, when the two fought it out for the vacant Strikeforce Welterweight belt. Until the 18th of December, 2021, Marquardt remained the only man to have ever flattened Woodley.
Jake Paul called out Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz after beating Tyron Woodley
Jake Paul issued a callout to Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz who had left the arena before his fight began.
At the post-fight interview with Ariel Helwani, Paul said:
“Y’all are some bitches for leaving this arena. I know you don’t want that s***. I’ll take out both of y’all next. Get out of your contracts with daddy Dana. Imma f*** them up too.”
