John Gotti III Declares War: Vows Revenge on Floyd Mayweather, Calls Conor McGregor for Backup
The clash between John Gotti III and Floyd Mayweather during their exhibition boxing match in Sunrise, Fla., was nothing short of chaotic. From delays caused by their entourages to a brawl breaking out after the referee called a stop to the fight, the event was marred by controversy. Despite Mayweather’s dominant performance, Gotti remained incensed, expressing his frustration on social media.
In an Instagram Story, Gotti posted a high-angle video of the brawl and wrote, “Punk b****, Floyd Mayweather, you my enemy for life.” He further criticized the fight being called off, stating, “Bum never put me down or stopped me. It was a DQ for no reason.”
To intensify the situation, Gotti, who is the grandson of infamous New York mobster John Gotti, tagged UFC star and longtime Mayweather rival Conor McGregor in another Instagram story, calling for backup.
McGregor and Mayweather have a complex history, characterized by both insults and occasional mutual respect. Their feud culminated in a crossover boxing match in August 2017, which became one of the most lucrative pay-per-view events in combat sports history. Mayweather emerged victorious by TKO in Round 10.
The aftermath of the Gotti-Mayweather clash continues to unravel, leaving fans wondering if another chapter in the McGregor-Mayweather saga could be on the horizon.
WWE legend The Undertaker has expressed his desire to see Conor McGregor make the transition from the UFC to professional wrestling, believing that the Irishman has all the qualities to become one of the biggest stars in the WWE.
McGregor, who will return to the UFC later this year following a two-year absence due to a leg injury, continues to be one of the most recognizable names in combat sports. However, as his possible return approaches, speculation arises regarding the future of his career and the possibility of him pursuing other opportunities.
Speaking to The Independent, The Undertaker praised McGregor’s charisma and ability, stating, “He has WWE written all over him. He would be the ultimate heel, and that would be kind of fun.”
The recent acquisition of a majority stake in WWE by Endeavour Group Holdings, who also owns the UFC, has sparked rumours of possible crossovers between the two organisations. McGregor’s entry into the WWE would unquestionably be a major attraction for both professional wrestling and mixed martial arts fans.
While several MMA fighters, including Ronda Rousey and Brock Lesnar, have successfully transitioned to WWE in the past, McGregor’s star power and popularity would elevate it to a new level. McGregor’s larger-than-life persona and ability to captivate audiences would be a tremendous asset to WWE and could conceivably propel the organisation to new heights.
Uncertain is whether McGregor will make the transition from the Octagon to the wrestling arena. Nonetheless, the prospect of such a crossover has piqued the interest of both fans and industry professionals. Whether McGregor pursues a career in WWE or continues his journey in the UFC, his impact on combat sports is undeniable, and his legion of worldwide fans anxiously await his future endeavors.
