Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is determined to beat Jake Paul come what may

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. wants to fight Jake Paul and is willing to hang up his gloves in case ‘The Problem Child’ beats him.

The name Paul has been all over the combat sports community, especially after the YouTuber beat former UFC welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley, in their rematch on the 18th of December, 2021.

Paul’s KO of Woodley was so brutal that many began expressing their views about taking the former Disney Star, a bit more seriously.

Now, it looks like Cesar Chavez Jr. is willing to step in. In a recent video posted by TV Boxeo, Chavez Jr. can be seen saying that he was ready to fight Paul, and was also willing to retire if he loses.

He was quoted as saying:

“I can only talk about myself, not about other people, I am not here to criticise anyone. I talk by analysing boxing. I hope I can get a few million with Jake Paul. If he beats me, I’ll retire, I don’t get paid. I don’t want money if I don’t beat him. Retirement – not interested in his money if I do not win.” [via DAZN]

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has words of respect for Jake Paul

While Cesar Chavez Jr. did acknowledge the fact that the Boxing community wanted him to beat Jake Paul, the Mexican did have words of respect for the 5-0 boxer.

He said:

“People want me to beat him, [Jake Paul] is strong and he knows how to organise the fights well at his weight, it would be a matter of reaching an agreement.

Chavez Jr. then continued, hailing Jake’s brother Logan as well:

“[The Pauls] generate a lot of expectations and money, a match with me would be good. They haven’t learned how to fight well and I can take advantage of that. Jake Paul can punch, but he’s not a boxer.” [via DAZN]

Chavez Jr. last beat David Zegarra on the same night Paul beat Woodley in the rematch.
