Terence Crawford successfully defended his WBO welterweight title in a fiery Boxing contest against Shawn Porter

Terence Crawford vs Shawn Porter at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Paradise, Nevada was an instant classic.

At one point it did look like Porter will be giving Crawford a run for his money. But the phenomenal Nebraskan showed why he has hardly come close to being defeated in 37 staggering fights.

Following a slow start in the early rounds, Crawford picked up pace towards the later rounds, and he had a narrow lead on all the judges’ scorecards by the time the contest went into the 10th round.

Crawford knocked down Porter in the 10th round. The tough-as-nails Porter who had never been stopped before beat the referee’s count and continued fighting.

However, a while later he was once again dropped by Crawford, only for Porter’s father Kenny to throw in the towel and stop the fight.

38-0 for Crawford and the world rose to congratulate him. Here are some of the Twitter reactions from combat sports professionals.

UFC fighters Belal Muhammad and Derek Brunson made their opinions known.
