All hell broke loose on Twitter as Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk upset Anthony Joshua to become the heavyweight champion of the world

A calm, collected and composed Oleksandr Usyk beat Anthony Joshua in his own backyard in one of the most memorable fights in modern boxing heavyweight history.

The Ukrainian who was the undisputed cruiserweight champion, a couple of years ago, stepped up to the heavyweight division, and was just two fights old in the HW division when he took on AJ.

He proved all doubters wrong with his smart footwork and out-of-the-world head movement.

Having dominated the first three rounds, Usyk lost his footing in the next three, and at one point, it looked like Joshua was going to run away with the victory.

However, he brought back his pace in the seventh round, and nailed it in the championship rounds.

In the last minute of the 12th and final round, Usyk almost had Joshua knocked out. Had there been a minute or so, AJ would have been out cold in front of 60000+ at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua 2 next?

The match between Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua had a rematch clause attached to it. Given that AJ was thoroughly outboxed, a rematch will very much be on the cards, as that would be the only way up for Joshua.

He’s got a great promoter in Eddie Hearn as well.

Elsewhere, there is Tyson Fury, who will soon be taking on Deontay Wilder next. Going by the look of things, a fight between Joshua and Fury might not go ahead in the near future.
