Bradley Kent Stevens a.k.a Brad Stevens is a former professional basketball coach and is currently the President of basketball operations for the Boston Celtics.
In the summer of 2000, Stevens was offered the opportunity to volunteer in the Butler basketball office. However, Stevens got lucky. He was offered a low-paying administrative position as coordinator of basketball operations for Butler University, under then-coach Thad Matta.
Further, after Matta left Butler University following the 2000–01 season, new head coach Todd Lickliter promoted Stevens to a full-time assistant coach in 2001. Next, in 2007, Stevens was named Butler University’s new head coach. Stevens was the head coach for Butler University till 2013.
Subsequently, on July 3, 2013, Stevens was signed as the head coach for the Boston Celtics to coach in the NBA. Stevens was the head coach for the Boston Celtics till the 2020-2021 season.
Then, on June 2, 2021, the Celtics named Stevens as the President of basketball operations. Stevens replaced Danny Ainge, who announced his retirement. On June 23, 2021, it was reported that Stevens had decided to hire Ime Udoka as his own replacement as the head coach of the Boston Celtics.
However, Udoka was fired by Boston in 2022 after a scandal with one of the staff members on the team. The Celtics are currently coached by Joe Mazzulla.
