Pillman started his journey in professional wrestling following his father’s footsteps. Former WWE star Lance Storm trained Brian in the Storm Wrestling Academy in Canada.
He made his debut in wrestling at Dojo Wars 162 against Mike Del for Combat Zone Wrestling. Pillman started his journey mainly in the independent circuit like International Wrestling Cartel, where he came as a surprise entrant at the 16-man Battle Royale at IWC.
Brian also won the Super Indy Championship for ICW. In late 2018, Pillman signed a contract with Major League Wrestling.
Strangely when Pillman first came to Major League Wrestling, he was trained by his father’s rival in World Championship Wrestling, Kevin Sullivan. But Pillman turned on Sullivan and created The New Hart Foundation with Teddy Hart and Dave Boy Smith Jr.
In July 2021, his MLW contract expired, and speculation arose that Pillman might be heading to All Elite Wrestling. However, he did win the MLW World Tag Team Championship one time.
In 2019, Pillman did make an appearance in a Battle Royal at AEW Double or Nothing. Pillman began to appear on both of AEW’s flagship shows, Dynamite, and the online show Dark. He was allowed to fight for AEW even after being contracted with MLW.
Pullman made his grand show debut in an eight-man tag team match with Garrison, and later they named the team “The Varsity Blonds,” which was a tribute to Pillman’s Father.
On July 12, 2021, Pillman signed a full-time deal with All Elite Wrestling and was a part of the main roster.
