Why Brighton should sign Sergio Romero to replace Matt Ryan
According to Daily Mail, Brighton have shown interest in Manchester United outcast Sergio Romero. With Mat Ryan’s future in the air after losing the number one spot to Robert Sanchez, Brighton are said to be open to letting the Australian leave. Romero, on the other hand, has fallen down the pecking order and has not featured for United this season.

The 33-year-old started his senior career at Racing Club in his native Argentina back in 2006. A year later, he moved to Europe with AZ. He won the league in 2009 under Louis van Gaal. A loan move to Monaco followed in 2013 but Romero failed to get games there. Manchester United signed him on a free transfer in 2015 to provide cover for De Gea. He has since won the Europa League, FA Cup and League Cup, and had a major part to play in those successes.

Ryan was Brighton’s go-to man between the posts for a long time and it surely did come as a surprise to him when he was told that Robert Sanchez would be given a run in the side. He may not have played much in the league but he does have the familiarity of playing in England. His stats for the Argentina national team aren’t too shabby either.
