Manchester United player ratings vs Everton: Who impressed?

Manchester United got back to winning ways with a 2-1 triumph over Everton at Old Trafford. The Red Devils looked the stronger of the two sides in the opening stages and Paul Pogba turned in the rebound from his penalty kick to put the home team in the driver’s seat.

It was by far United’s best performance of the season as Jose Mourinho’s men looked like a real threat in the final third. Paul Pogba teed up Anthony Martial at the edge of the box and the Frenchman obliged with a curling effort to find the net in the 49th minute.

Gylfi Sigurdsson pulled one back from the penalty spot after Richarlison was brought down by Chris Smalling inside the box. United had more chances to increase their lead as Everton pressed for the equaliser but Jordan Pickford made some crucial saves to keep the visitors in the hunt.

Manchester United climbed to 8th in the standings with 17 points from 10 games and will face another tough test week when they make the trip to the Vitality Stadium to face Bournemouth.

Meanwhile, Marco Silva will be disappointed as the defeat put an end to Everton’s three-game winning streak in the Premier League.
