Britt Baker made her wrestling debut in an independent circuit called International Wrestling Cartel in 2015. She made a one-off appearance that year on WWE Raw, as a ‘jobber’. Baker was badly beaten by Nia Jax.
After three years with IWC, which also saw her win the title, Baker moved to AEW. She was the promotion’s first-contracted female wrestler. She joined on the very week the promotion was incepted.
However, her debut came four months later on the 25th of May in a four-way match against Nyla Rose, Kylie Rae and Awesome Kong at Double or Nothing.
Although trying her shot at the AEW Women’s Championship and failing multiple times, Baker’s determination finally earned her the championship in 2021.
She defeated Hikaru Shida at Double or Nothing on the 30th of May, 2021 to win the AEW Women’s Championship for the first time.
She has still held on to the title. At Fyter Fest, two months after winning her title, Baker defended it successfully against Rose.
Another threat to her title came in the form of Red Velvet. However, Baker was up for it and beat her on the premiere episode of Rampage – on the 13th of August. At Revolution in March 2022, Baker debuted a new AEW Women’s World Championship belt and retained the title over Rosa and on Dynamite, later on, lost the title to Thunder Rosa in a steel cage match.
Besides being a wrestler Baker is also a dentist. She studied dentistry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. She graduated in May 2018. That is why she is also called Dr Britt Baker.
