Buddy Baker began racing in Chevrolet for his own team in the 1959 season. In the first three seasons, he drove Chevrolet, Ford, and Chrysler. Buddy Baker drove Dodge Charger Daytona and Oldsmobile cars in the next seasons. He won the 1980 Daytona 500 in his iconic Gray Ghost Oldsmobile car.
