We finally have some details about season 2 of Call of Duty Warzone and Vanguard. Here is everything you need to know.
The Call of Duty Season 2 update is only a few days away, and we’ve got an early look at what’s coming. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming major patch, from new Caldera map updates to unique vehicles and weaponry. Season 1 of Warzone has come to an end after ten weeks of moving to the Pacific. The popular Call of Duty battle royale is finally poised to liven things up in February, after a series of delays that have made this one of the longest season to date.
The much-awaited Call of Duty Season 2 update has arrived, and it appears to have more new content than normal. There’s much to learn about, from map changes on the controversial Caldera to devastating new vehicles and everything in between. Get ahead of the competition with this early breakdown of all there is to know about the Call of Duty Season 2 update before the major patch arrives.
Season Two content will be available on February 14th, following updates to Vanguard and Warzone. Vanguard will have an update on February 10 at 9 a.m. PT/12 p.m. ET. Meanwhile, Warzone will be shutting down its servers on February 14 at 9 a.m. PT/12 p.m. EST in order to prepare for Warzone Pacific Season 2.
The Season 2 patch’s actual file size has also not been announced. On PlayStation 4, the full Warzone app will apparently be a 47.2GB download. As a result, it’s expected the new update will come in at over 10GB in total.
In Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone, operators will be able to get their hands on a variety of iconic firearms to augment their loadouts. Through the Battle Pass, you’ll be able to get the KG M40 Assault Rifle and the Whitley LMG on day one, and as Season Two progresses, you’ll be able to get the Ice Axe and a prototype SMG.
This weapon can be a powerful competitor in mid to long-range fights, as it has the second most damage per shot in its category, a similar effective range to the NZ-41, and a fire rate above 600 RPM. Its full potential can be realized after the Operator masters its recoil.
The Whitley is one of the first machine guns used in battle, and it competes with its Battle Pass rival for a strong mid-to-long-range weapon in all three game types. Despite its history, this LMG is extremely adaptable, and even in its most basic configuration, it fills a niche position with the highest damage per shot of the four Vanguard competitors.
A useful climbing tool that can be used as a melee or throwable weapon in battle. An Ice Axe is sharp enough to pierce stony mountain slopes or a hard target in the Alps. This powerful melee weapon is designed for use in snowy environments, yet it is deadly enough to be a one-hit kill no matter where it is swung.
Even though its design was never improved upon in the decades that followed, this advanced submachine gun provided insight into how modern CQB weaponry could function. More research on its possible attachments and efficacy in live-fire circumstances is needed because of its prototype nature.
The Chemical Factory POI has been dropped between Mines and Docks. What used to be a refinery is now the Nebula V plant, with poisonous gas leaking from it. Expect this to be one of the most popular drop sites in Season 2 as it comes with a slew of significant gifts, including a chance to get your hands on the new Nebula V Bomb.
On the surface, the second map update in Season 2 is undetectable. Instead, new infrastructure has been scattered about beneath Caldera. Because these POIs only have one access point, it’s important to prepare for a fight before diving in.
Season Two launches with two conventional Multiplayer maps, as well as the widest locale in Vanguard yet during the season, ranging from the North African deserts to the European mountains.
Casablanca, Morocco’s crown jewel, is a medium-sized three-lane map set within a lively marketplace. Expect a variety of vertical battles with various structures to explore and climb upon, as well as a variety of close- to long-range strategies.
Don’t look down on this moderate, three-lane-style map.
Travel above a wide ravine and a fire watchtower on the Gondola, but get off before it falls down the cliff! Operators can also make use of the gondola route’s lengthy sightline, or go through the power plant and tunnels for a closer-quarters fight.
In Warzone Season 2, there is a completely new element called Nebula V. Not only can this feature improve the strength of your weaponry, but a rare Nebula V Bomb can also alter how players travel Caldera. Squads can now make use of Nebula V Ammo thanks to a new Field Upgrade. While the bullets themselves do not do any additional damage, downing a target causes a noxious gas cloud to erupt. Allies will not be able to revive unless they have a Gas Mask.
The Nebula V Bomb is on the more lethal end of the spectrum. This is a rare item that players can detonate on Caldera for huge damage, as the name implies. This item, after an initial blast, distributes lethal gas in a broad radius for up to two minutes. Those who do not have a Gas Mask will have to act quickly and evacuate the area.
