Callie Brownson graduated from Mount Vernon High School, which is in Mount Vernon, Virginia. In school, she played softball as the football team did not allow girls.
In 2010, Brownson attended George Mason University. While in University, Brownson tried out for the D.C. Divas in the Women’s Football Alliance (WFA) at 19.
She played eight seasons with the Divas, and for five seasons, she served as a team captain. She was also named All-American four times. Brownson played as a free safety and running back and won two WFA championships. (2015, 2016).
Brownson was also a member of the United States women’s national American football team and she won two gold medals at the IFAF Women’s World Championship in 2013 and 2017.
At 21, Brownson was an assistant football coach for her alma mater, Mount Vernon High School. She served as an assistant football coach for three seasons.
In 2017, she worked as a scouting intern for the New York Jets. In 2018, she became the offensive quality control coach for Dartmouth College. With the Dartmouth job, Brownson became the first woman to be hired as a full-time NCAA Division I coach.
Subsequently, in 2019, she was hired by the Buffalo Bills to work as a coaching intern. Since 2020, Brownson is the chief of staff for the Cleveland Browns in the NFL.
