Cameron Grimes is the current NXT North American Champion and he has mentioned the influence his father has had on his wrestling career a number of times in the recent past
Cameron Grimes’ father was also a professional wrestler named Tracy Caddell. He passed away in July 2018 at the age of 50 at his home in North Carolina. He was a founding member of OMEGA Championship Wrestling, which was first established as the East Coast Wrestling Federation (ECWF) in 1992.
Trevor Lee aka Cameron Grimes was trained by Matt and Jeff Hardy. The Hardys were very close to Caddell and his family. After Caddell’s demise, Matt put out a heartfelt tweet.
“Heartbroken by the passing of my friend, Tracy Caddell, father of Trevor Caddell,” Matt Hardy said in the tweet.
“Tracy & I founded ECWF, which became OMEGA, together in 92.”
Matt also revealed that Caddell was injured in an accident during the 1990s which limited his physical activities and turned him from an athlete himself to his son’s biggest supporter.
Cameron Grimes’ accomplishments
Cameron Grimes has already won an impressive number of titles in his young career. He has mentioned in many of his promos that he wants to make his father proud with his performances. Mr. Caddell is surely proud of the phenomenal accomplishments of his son and the fact that he is only 28 gives us the hope that he will make it big on the main roster of WWE soon.
