Cameron Grimes finally has a shot at a belt on WWE NXT
A triple threat match for the NXT North American Ladder match was one of the talking points with Cameron Grimes winning it.
The Technical Savage hasn’t had the greatest days since signing for WWE, but this was a big moment for him.
There were some other big talking points from the show, and here are the hits and misses.
Misses
1) An explosive start
Keith Lee vs Karrion Kross will be great but the entire exploding contract didn’t quite work out.
Also, Lee trying to sell he was blinded and hurt didn’t cut it, despite some decent acting.
Kross taking Lee out with a move or attacking him during a match would have been better. Doomsday doesn’t need to play such tricks, even with Scarlett Bordeaux by his side.
He is one of the best athletes in WWE and the action needs to take place in the ring between them.
2) The Era interrupts
The Undisputed Era were upset with Pat McAfee, and they needed to send a message.
However, they interrupted a match and caused a no result for no reason at all. WWE could have given Adam Cole and his team a complete segment to share their thoughts.
Instead, they ran in and attacked a couple of wrestlers not in the storyline, and this didn’t make much sense at all.
Hits
1) A new HBIC
Mia Yim hasn’t been in the limelight a lot lately but she got her time to shine on NXT. First, she was there to help her man, Lee, after he was attacked.
Later, she picked up an impressive win over Indi Hartwell and even showed off a new finisher.
Yim hasn’t always gotten her fair share of time on NXT, but this could be a turning point for the HBIC.
2) Grimes set for the Moon
Grimes winning a match on NXT is a big deal, especially if it carries so much importance like it did on Wednesday.
The Technical Savage is a former X Division champion on TNA but WWE just haven’t used him well enough.
However, this win over the Velveteen Dream could be a huge moment in his career. Grimes has been in the doldrums for a while but this could be his time to shine.
3) Robert Stone’s team clicks
Mercedes Martinez and Aliyah might not be the most similar kind of wrestlers, however, the pair clicked extremely well as a tag team.
They got the win with a brilliant finisher too and this can only mean good things for the Robert Stone brand.
The pair should face Shotzi Blackheart and Rhea Ripley in the future, and that should be another great match too.
