In the 2004 NASCAR Cup Series, Edwards made his debut for Roush Racing in a Ford. In the Nationwide series, Carl Edwards Jr. drove Chevrolet and Ford Mustang vehicles. He also secured second place in the 2011 Daytona 500 in his Ford car.
