Carmella, real name Leah Van Dale, might be the most stylish WWE female star on the current roster.
The Princess of Staten Island, as she is called, has the style and substance in and out of the ring and she isn’t afraid to show it.
She is a former SmackDown Women’s Champion but there is more to her than that. The 33-year-old was a former cheerleader for the LA Lakers and the New England Patriots, but it is great she ditched that role for this one.
She has won several titles during her time in WWE and still has a lot more to do before her time in the company is over.

Carmella has a net worth estimated to be $1million in the year 2021. This is thanks to her performances in the ring and she also earns a salary of $250,000 per year.
This isn’t the highest that females earn in WWE, but six-figures is always a good starting point in WWE.
Carmella Early career
Van Dale had actually applied for Tough Enough in 2010 but went off to try her luck in the cheerleading world.
She was back in 2013 and took up the Carmella name after signing for NXT. She was teamed up with Big Cass and Enzo Amore.
While she was basically a manager for the pair, she ended up starting a feud alongside Eva Marie. The trio of Cass, Amore and Carmella made a few appearances on the main roster with Road Block before getting the call up to SmackDown.
Carmella WWE career
However, moving up to SmackDown had its own pitfalls. Amore and Cass were gone for various reasons and she had to find someone else to team up with.
That turned out to be James Ellsworth as Mella not only won the Money in the Bank title but also the SmackDown Women’s title after defeating Charlotte Flair.
After losing the title and splitting up with Ellsworth, she was with R-Truth for a while but was written off TV in late 2019.
Mella returned in a new avatar during the end of 2020 and restarted a feud with Sasha Banks for the SmackDown title.
Carmella Family and Relationships
Carmella is the daughter of Paul Van Dale, who used to be a jobber for WWE and also a mixed martial artist.
Van Dale grew up in Spencer, Massachusetts and had stints as a cheerleader for two big teams.
Carmella used to date former WWE star Big Cass and they even featured on the main roster. However, the she split with her then boyfriend and Mella has since been dating Corey Graves.

Carmella has appeared on Total Divas and also her relationship with Graves was shown during one of the episodes.
She also launched her own wine label with the name, Capo Cagna. Mella is also a certified fitness instructor and a trainer.
