CD Projekt Red has announced a Witcher 3 Next Gen Update. If you are looking for more details then you are at the right place.
A new gameplay video of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been released for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series systems, and the developer has revealed every upgrade that will accompany the next-generation version.
A few devs from CD Projekt Red described the improved aesthetics, brand-new quests, cross-progression, and other things that will be included in The Witcher 3 when the update launches on December 14. To know all the details about the Witcher 3 Next Gen Update, then read this article till the end.
In addition to ray tracing, CD Projekt Red confirmed that consoles will feature graphics settings that will let players choose 30 or 60 frames per second. This will be available on Xbox Series S and all next-generation systems.
In addition to being more dynamic, the mini-map and the on-screen objectives are now disappearing as players ride horses or engage in combat. The map can be brought back with a single button press, however, so Geralt doesn’t get lost during his exploration of The Continent.
In addition to the previously announced armor based on Henry Cavill’s Geralt version of Geralt, The Witcher Netflix series DLC is now a quest. An alternative outfit has also been added for Dandelion, resembling Jaskier from the Netflix series.
As part of The Witcher 3 Next Gen Update, CD Projekt Red announced cross-progression, which means players can exchange saves between their PlayStation 5 and Xbox 360 systems.
The quality-of-life improvements have been made in the area of magic wielding. Players can now change the way the left bumper is activated to switch between different signs, so when they press the button, the face buttons change to represent each sign. This addition is designed to keep players engaged in combat without forcing them to navigate menus.
Additionally, a new filter setting eliminates all the pesky question marks that litter The Witcher 3’s worlds. As a result of this change, players will be able to encounter different events more naturally rather than treat them as checklist items. This will also enhance immersion in the game.
In April 2022, CD Projekt Red took over the development of the Witcher 3 Next Gen Update, which was originally expected to be released last year but had been delayed twice. Saber Interactive was originally tasked with developing the new version. CD Projekt Red insists that the game is “not in development hell”.
The Q4 release date was originally announced back in May, but many were still concerned given the two previous delays as well as the impending end of the year, but CD Projekt Red will apparently hit its target after announcing the December release date earlier this month.
Due to improved character models (with 4K textures), ray-tracing lighting effects, and other cosmetic improvements, the redesigned action role-playing game looks better. Even the water reflections have been improved, making Geralt look even grizzled. It’s not surprising that the refreshed game would look at least somewhat better than 2015 original, and it isn’t necessarily a difference that is dramatic.
On PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, the Witcher 3 Next Gen Update will launch on December 14th. Neither the sequel nor the remake is a full-blown sequel, but it’s worth a try if you’re new to The Witcher games or haven’t played The Witcher 3 for years. This is the beginning of CDPR’s relaunch of the franchise.
