On June 25, 2015, the Minnesota Timberwolves selected Osman with the 31st overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. His draught rights were then traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers that same night, along with Rakeem Christmas’ and a future draft pick, in exchange for Tyus Jones’ draft rights.

Osman extended his contract with the Cavaliers on October 26, 2019.
