Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal almost traded blows at Super Bowl Radio Row recently
Former UFC star Chael Sonnen was outspoken about how American Football games and the Super Bowl isn’t all that it is hyped up to be.
Sonnen claimed that for four hours of the show, you get close to seven real minutes of action.
The former UFC star also lambasted the half-time show, which is a big deal in the Super Bowl, but he wanted to talk about the Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal altercation.
The pair didn’t fight at Super Bowl Radio Row as they were separated, and there were some suggestions that this was faked to hype up the future bout.
However, Sonnen ruled that both fighters were incapable of faking stuff but didn’t rule out another hand at play:
“Is Usman and Masvidal capable of doing something phony? No.
“Those are two very real guys and I don’t think they would be part of it [faking the fight], but it does seem as though somebody else brought them together and had cameras rolling while this is going on.”
Sonnen went on to say that he loves such altercations:
“I have to share with you, the face off like those things always is compelling to me. When two professional fighters get into some of kind of, in this case a verbal dispute, organically, there’s something in that for me which is compelling.”
However, he did finish by saying that the pair would only have gotten into a brawl inside an Octagon, and not in public.

Dana White also claimed that the pair couldn’t fake something like what happened at Radio Row.
The UFC president also confirmed during an interview that the pair will fight in the future, and it will be interesting to see how the bout goes.
