Charlotte Flair had a lot of praise for Renee Young as the Canadian left WWE to pursue other ventures

Renee Young participated in her final WWE show on Sunday as the Canadian left the promotion for other projects.

Young made a name for herself as a backstage interviewer on NXT years back. However, she climbed up the ladder and started hosting her own shows on Fox too. Young also did commentary several times and was one of the most popular members.

Many wrestlers have shared glowing tributes to the Canadian, and the latest one was Charlotte Flair.

The Queen, as Charlotte is called, is one of the greatest talents to have ever wrestled in the promotion. Charlotte is also one of the greatest female athletes in the history of wrestling and she had a lot to say about Young.

Charlotte claimed that Young was also part of the reason why the women’s revolution took place in WWE and was saddened to see her leave:

“The women’s evolution was not only in the ring. Renee @reneepaquette blazed trails that little girls will follow for generations. Sad to see you leave, but excited to see what’s next!”

Changing the wrestling business

The women’s revolution was a game changer for female talents in WWE. Earlier, most of the women weren’t seen as wrestlers but models who could wrestle. They weren’t always given main-event status and even the wrestling wasn’t all that good.

Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Bayley and Sasha Banks changed that as they were the Four Horsewomen who invaded Raw years back.

Stephanie McMahon is also credited for changing how women are looked at in wrestling while NXT has seen other quality stars such as Asuka, Paige, Bianca Belair and Ember Moon also progress.

Young might not have wrestled in WWE but she certainly did an incredible job on the microphone. She wasn’t just a face during interviews but actually asked relevant questions and made certain that she also was an integral part of interviews.

Young will be sorely missed in WWE but it will be interesting to see what is next for her.
