The SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair will defend her title at WrestleMania 38 against Ronda Rousey
Ronda Rousey won the Women’s Royal Rumble to book her ticket for WrestleMania. She chose Charlotte Flair as her opponent and their feud has been built up quite nicely.
Ronda took out Charlotte a few weeks ago after winning her match against Sonya Deville. The Queen, however, got the better of Ronda in the next couple of weeks. Last week Ronda came to the ring to have her revenge but Charlotte wasn’t in the building.
During their brawl a couple of weeks ago, Ronda suffered a labial frenulum tear. TMZ interviewed WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte, Flair, as she was traveling through the airport. She was asked about Ronda’s injury and she said that if Ronda got injured during the build-up, she is gonna have a much tougher time at WrestleMania.
“She’ll be more injured. If [she’s got a minor injury now], I can’t wait to see WrestleMania,” Flair said.
The 12-time World Champion has said that she has nothing to prove to anyone. It’s hard to argue with that statement. Charlotte has won every championship there is in the Women’s division.
Charlotte mentioned that Ronda has a lot to prove after having wrestled in only a handful of matches since her return at Royal Rumble.
“I don’t think I have anything left to prove. It’s Ronda that has something to prove, not me.”
Ronda Rousey versus Charlotte Flair will take place on Night One of WrestleMania 38 on Saturday, April 2 at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas. The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on April 1 at the American Airlines Center where the likes of The Undertaker, Vader, and Queen Sharmell will be inducted along with the late, great Shad Gaspard who was announced as the Warrior Award winner.
