The experienced campaigners Eugenie Bouchard and Yanina Wickmayer take on the team of Anna Blinkova and Natela Dzalamidze in the Chennai Open 2022 semi-final on Friday.

The veteran doubles player Yanina Wickmayer has formed a formidable team with former singles World No. 5 Eugenie Bouchard.
They got off to an impressive start in the first round as they defeated the team of Katarzyna Kawa and Han Xinyun in straight sets 6-2, 6-4. In the quarterfinals, Bouchard and Wickmayer had to fight hard and come back from a set down to defeat the team of Anastasia Gasanova and Oksana Selekhmeteva 5-7, 6-3, 12-10.
The Canadian star has her singles quarterfinal match against Nadia Podoroska beginning a couple of hours prior to this match. Going to be hard work for the 2014 Wimbledon finalist as she is just playing her third tournament since returning after undergoing shoulder surgery. Fitness could be an issue for the 28-year-old and in that case, Wickmayer will have to take more of the load.

The Russian-Georgian duo is only focusing on the doubles event as Blinkova lost in the first round of the singles event while Dzalamidze didn’t take part.
They have had to overcome two stiff challenges thus far in the competition. In the first match, they came back from a set down to defeat the team of Kaitlyn Christian and Lidziya Marozava 5-7, 6-1, 10-8. In the quarterfinals, they defeated the team of Arianne Hartono and Olivia Tjandramulia 6-3, 4-6, 10-5 to progress to the semis.
Prediction: Eugenie Bouchard and Yanina Wickmayer to win in straight sets.
