John Houston Stockton aka. John Stockton is a retired NBA player with numerous accolades to his name and one that will be remembered for years to come. Stockton was the sixteenth overall draft pick in the 1984 NBA Draft by the Utah Jazz. Notably, throughout his NBA career, Stockton has played for the Jazz.
In his 19-year NBA career, Stockton has been a ten-time NBA All-Star (1989–1997, 2000), and also an NBA All-Star Game MVP (1993). Moreover, he has been named two times to the All-NBA First Team (1994, 1995) and six times to the All-NBA Second Team (1988–1990, 1992, 1993, 1996). Apart from these, Stockton has been a nine-times NBA assists leader (1988–1996) and two-times NBA steals leader (1989, 1992). Also, Stockton is a two-time Olympic Gold medalist (1992, 1996).
Notably, Stockton has been named to the NBA 50th Anniversary Team and more recently he was also named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team. Further, for his significant contribution to the game of basketball, Stockton was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009.
John Stockton Personal Life
62-year-old Stockton was born on March 26, 1962, in Spokane, Washington. He is the son of Jack Stockton and Clementine Frei. Furthermore, he has three siblings named Leanne Stockton, Steve Stockton, and Stacey Stockton.
Interestingly, Stockton’s grandfather, Hust Stockton, was also a professional football player for the Frankford Yellow Jackets in the National Football League.
Subsequently, Stockton graduated from Gonzaga Preparatory School which is a private, Catholic high school. Later, Stockton attended Gonzaga University from 1980 to 1984. Notably, he received many offers from other Universities but chose to remain with Gonzaga University.
In 1986, Stockton married his wife, Nada Stepovich. Stockton and his wife, Nada Stepovich, have two daughters, Lindsay and Laura, and four sons, Houston, Michael, David, and Samuel. They all reside in Spokane, Washington.

Michael Stockton was born on May 7, 1989, in Spokane, Washington. He is the first son of John Stockton and Nada Stepovich.
He played college basketball for the Griffins from Westminster College. He then entered the 2011 NBA Draft but unfortunately went undrafted.
Michael then joined BG Karlsruhe in 2011, a professional basketball club based in Karlsruhe, Germany. Since then, 32-year-old Michael has played for many teams like MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg, Canton Charge, Avtodor Saratov, Apollon Patras, Göttingen, Cholet Basket, and Budivelnyk.
Currently, Michael plays for Budivelnyk, a Ukrainian professional basketball club based in Kyiv.
David Stockton
David Stockton was born on June 24, 1991, in Spokane, Washington. He is the second son of John Stockton and Nada Stepovich.
He played college basketball for Gonzaga University from 2010 to 2014. He then entered the 2014 NBA Draft but unfortunately went undrafted.
In 2014, David joined Reno Bighorns (now Stockton Kings), an NBA G-League team. Since then, David has also played in the NBA for the Sacramento Kings, Utah Jazz, and Memphis Grizzlies. Apart from the NBA, David has played overseas, for teams like Cedevita Zagreb, New Zealand Breakers, Medi Bayreuth, and Mets de Guaynabo. He has also played for the South Bay Lakers.
Currently, 30-year-old David plays for the Memphis Hustle, the NBA G-League team of the Memphis Grizzlies. Notably, David is the Croatian League champion (2016), Croatian Cup champion (2016), and the NBA D-League All-Rookie Second Team (2015).
Houston Stockton
Houston Stockton played college football at the University of Montana. Houston played as a defensive back for the Montana Grizzlies, the college football team. Houston is the third son of John Stockton. Like all his siblings, Houston was also raised in Spokane, Washington.
Samuel Stockton
Samuel Stockton is the fourth son of the NBA great John Stockton. Like all his other siblings, Samuel was also born in Spokane, Washington.
Samuel, like his father, also attended Gonzaga Preparatory School. Currently, he plays basketball at LC State University.
Sadly, Samuel’s life is very private, and not much is known about him.
Laura Stockton
Laura Stockton is the daughter of John Stockton and Nada Stepovich. Like his father, John, and brother, David, Laura played college basketball for Gonzaga University.
Then in 2020, Laura signed her first professional contract to play basketball for Herner TC in Germany.
Lindsay Stockton
Lindsay Stockton is the other daughter of John Stockton and Nada Stepovich. Like all her other siblings, Lindsay is also an ardent sportsperson.
Lindsay played college basketball for Montana State University. After playing college basketball, Lindsay became a professional basketball player. Like her siblings, Lindsay has also played basketball professionally in Germany.
