Chris Webber Career
Mayce Edward Christopher Webber III a.k.a Chris Webber was the 1993, Round 1, 1st overall draft pick by the Orlando Magic. However, Webber was immediately traded to the Golden State Warriors by the Orlando Magic.
Further, Webber played in the position of Power forward and is a five-time NBA All-Star (1997, 2000-2003).
In his NBA rookie year, Webber averaged 17.5 points and 9.1 rebounds per game and consequently won the 1994 NBA Rookie of the Year Award.
However, in the 1994 offseason, Webber was traded to the Washington Bullets (later renamed Washington Wizards). He then spent the next three years with the Wizards (formerly known as Washington Bullets). Furthermore, in 1997, Webber was named to his first All-Star team.
Next, on May 14, 1998, Webber was traded to the Sacramento Kings. Notably, Webber had his best years in Sacramento and nearly took the team to the NBA Finals. While playing for the Sacramento Kings, Webber made four NBA All-Star appearances (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003).
In February 2005, Webber was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers. Webber played for Philadelphia till 2007.
Then, on January 16, 2007, Webber signed with the Detroit Pistons. Playing for Pistons, Webber reached the 2007 Eastern Conference Finals but he ultimately lost against the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, during the off-season, Detroit did not re-sign Webber.
Subsequently, on January 29, 2008, the Golden State Warriors signed Webber for the rest of the ongoing season. He played in only nine games for the Warriors, averaging 3.9 points and 3.6 rebounds in 14 minutes per game.
Finally, on March 25, 2008, Webber officially retired from basketball due to persistent problems with his surgically repaired knee.
Webber averaged 20.7 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game during his NBA career. Recently, Webber was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame as a player.
