Christine did her law school at Paris Nanterre University and also obtained a master of law from the Sciences Po Aix College. Upon graduating, she joined Baker & McKenzie in 1981 for the associate post. She was specializing in labor and anti-trust. In 2019, she was elected as the President of the European Central Bank by defeating Mario Draghi. Upon entering as the President, she took an oath to maintain the accommodative monetary policy of her predecessor, Mario Draghi. During her address, she expressed asking ECB to play a role in fighting climate change.
