The former champion confirmed he would return next week too on the show (h/t WWE):

“It’s as simple as this: Just when they think they’ve got the answers, I change the culture.

“I’ll see you here next week.”

Punk came out to his theme song ’Cult of Personality’ and seemed to be in decent shape, despite not wrestling much since leaving the WWE.

Fox later confirmed that Punk would make appearances on WWE Backstage from next week.

When did CM Punk leave WWE?

The 41-year-old is a five-time Champion in WWE and is one of the best to have been in the business.

Punk left the WWE in 2014 and has been involved in other side projects during his time away.

Why did CM Punk quit WWE?

Punk left the WWE for several reasons as he had fallen down the pecking order and wasn’t set to feature at WrestleMania too.

The 41-year-old also had several injuries and has been involved in a lawsuit against the WWE in the past (h/t SI).

What next for WWE and CM Punk?

This is one of the biggest surprises in recent months in the WWE, and it will be interesting to see what the next steps are.

Punk hasn’t been in a lot of in-ring action and could do a job as a commentator for a while.

The 41-year-old has put up some great promos during his time in the WWE, and he would be a decent replacement or partner to Corey Graves as well.

WWE has a history of bringing former wrestlers back and it will be interesting to see if the relationship between Punk and the company is at its strongest.

There is no doubt that Punk would add more quality to the WWE even on the microphone.

The former champion could also play a role in Survivor Series, and the promotion have 10 or so days to plan things out.
