Coco Gauff pays lovely tribute to Caroline Wozniacki after Dane retires from Tennis

Caroline Wozniacki decided to retire from Tennis and Coco Gauff was one of the stars that paid tribute to the Dane

It is all over for Caroline Wozniacki in the Tennis circuit as the 29-year-old decided to retire after her third round loss in the Australian Open.

The Dane made her decision before the tournament and would have wanted to reach the final for one swansong event.

Unfortunately, she could not get past Tunisian Ons Jabeur and said her goodbyes to the Tennis scene.

Several stars shared their tributes for the former World No 1. Wozniacki also won one Grand Slam during her time, which was the Australian Open in 2018.

The Dane has had injury problems throughout her career, and that played a part in her decision to call it quits.

While on star’s time came to an end, another one’s is just beginning. Teenage sensation Coco Gauff continued her impressive form in the Australian Open but she shared some great words for Wozniacki.

The 15-year-old congratulated the Dane on an amazing career and claimed she was a “great role model”.

Gauff rolls on

The 15-year-old face defending Australian Open champion Naomi Osaka in the third round of the event.

Gauff pulled off a bit of an upset by dumping the Japanese out 6-3, 6-4. She had met Osaka previously in the US Open where the 22-year-old came out on top.

The American was a little stunned at the result and spoke about how she needs to get some homework done too.

More Tennis news

It will be interesting to see how the teenager does for the rest of the tournament. She already defeated Venus Williams in the first round and is also playing doubles with Caty McNally.
