Colby Covington could be considered as the villain of the UFC. The outspoken Donald Trump supporter has visited the president and even presented him with the interim UFC Welterweight title.

While Covington is known to antagonize his opponents and trash talk a lot. He still has a great record and was a quality wrestler during his college days.

The American had a run-in with the law during his college days and turned a corner since then. Covington also is a performer and has featured on Impact Wrestling and WrestlePro.

The 32-year-old joined American Top Team initially to help their MMA stars improve their wrestling skills.

However, Covington became interested in the sport and went on a 5-0 run before joining the UFC. His crowning moment came as he defeated Rafael dos Anjos to become the interim UFC Lightweight champion.

Covington’s character came up then as he verbally attacked Kamaru Usman. The pair met at UFC 245 where Usman not only defeated Covington but also broke the American’s jaw.

Colby Covington has a net worth of $2million in the year 2021. This is completely due to his MMA career, however, he might have earned some amounts thanks to his two wrestling appearances.

As with most UFC fighters, Covington is paid per fight and doesn’t earn a yearly or monthly salary.

His first recorded UFC pay out was $16,000 as he defeated Anying Wang. He stuck around the five-digit mark for a while but his big pay out was for defeating Dos Anjos as he made $380,000.

Covington made six figures in his next fight too but his highest pay out was in the losing cause to Usman.

The former interim champion made $580,000 despite losing the belt. His latest fight was against Tyron Woodley where he made a reported $430,000 after getting a win.

Colby Covington had a great wrestling record and his MMA and UFC record isn’t bad too.

The 32-year-old has an overall MMA record of 16 wins and two losses. Both his losses have come in the UFC with his last fight being the one against Usman.

The other loss in his career came against Warlley Alves at UFC 194. The American has a UFC record of 11 wins and two losses so far.

Colby Covington Family and relationships

Colby Covington was born to Noelle and Brad Covington and he has two sisters, Candace and Callie too.

Brad was a wrestler during his time in college and Colby followed suit and was one of the best in his division.

Covington made some scandalous remarks over Polyanna Viana too, but the female MMA star rejected claims of the pair being together.

There isn’t a lot known about Colby Covington’s girlfriend but he was present with Janeece Sinclair a while back during a media day.

However, not much is known about his status as this Sinclair introduction took place in 2019.

Colby Covington Next fight

Colby Covington faced long-time rival Tyron Woodley at UFC Fight Night: Covington vs Woodley recently.

He got a comprehensive win over Woodley and dominated for four rounds before getting the TKO in the fifth.

While Covington called out Usman and Jorge Masvidal after the fight, the UFC is yet to name who Colby will fight next.
