An in-form Arsenal face a gritty Watford team at the Emirates Stadium in a game which is expected to be tough for both teams. They both played during the midweek in the EFL Cup third round, with most regular starters getting a rest. Expect both managers to go hard in this game.
The Gunners are currently in a good run of form, winning four league games in a row after losing the opening two games. Their opponents on the day started their campaign in a dream fashion, winning the first four games, before losing and drawing the other two respectively.
Being at home, Unai Emery’s men are expected to have more possession, but the key would be as to how they make use of the ball. Watford have been defensively good this season under Javi Gracia, so it won’t be easy for the home team. Patience could be a virtue.
Without Daryl Janmaat, who is out for six weeks, the Hornets are a bit light at right-back. Playing away from home at the Emirates Stadium begged for someone like Janmaat to be defensively solid in the wide areas before moving forward.
The Gunners could target that area and look to get three points. Emery’s men are on a good run of form and if they can win this one, it would go a long way in boosting their morale further.
