American sensation Sofia Kenin reached her first Grand Slam final by defeating Ashleigh Barty but there was a mention of Andy Roddick too
The 21-year-old was a tennis prodigy and her best result in a Grand Slam was reached the fourth round last year in the French Open.
However, she won three titles last year as she opened her account and now has the chance to win her first Grand Slam crown.
Kenin will face Garbine Muguruza and there were many congratulatory messages for the American.
The 21-year-old shared an old video of a younger self claiming she would be able to return Andy Roddick’s serves, which saw the former US star retweeted the clipping.
Roddick was one of the best during his days and was known for his lightning-fast serves, and Kenin was asked about the video from a reporter:
“I think everyone knows about it.
“It’s just an interview where I am saying that I can return his serve and how I will return it, by the way, he tweeted something about me and said congratulations and stuff, so thank you.”
Kenin’s performance in the Australian Open should not be a surprise given her form from the previous campaign.
She defeated Serena Williams last year in the third round of the French Open and that was one of her biggest results.
The American lost to Barty in the fourth round as the Australian went on to win the Grand Slam.
