Find out everything you need to know about Conor McGregor whiskey brand Proper 12 and other brands that he owns

Conor McGregor is arguably the greatest star that the sport of MMA has ever seen. In his career so far, the Irishman has earned a fortune from his fighting as well as his various business endeavours. One of his most notable businesses is that of his whiskey company, Proper 12.

McGregor launched Proper 12 in 2018 along with Audie Attar and also Ken Austin. His stardom across the world helped the company to grow extraordinarily and earn him a fortune. Just three years later from the launch of his whiskey brand, McGregor decided to sell the majority stake of the Proper 12 brand to Proximo spirits.

Proximo Spirits previously owned 49% of the business and McGregor along with his co-founders Ken Austin and also Audie Attar sold the majority stake for a reported $600 million deal.

The extent and the details of the deal have not been made known to the public as of yet. The CEO of Proximo Spirits Mike Keyes revealed that The Notorious One is keen on selling a million cases each year. While speaking to Shanken News Daily, Keyes said:

“It’s hard to predict how long it’s going to take, but I’m looking at a million cases and saying that’s a starting point for this brand, Conor is very, very fixated on this being a multi-million case brand. I wouldn’t count him out ever.”

Interestingly, the name wasn’t always supposed to be Proper 12. During the post-fight press conference of his Floyd Mayweather fight, McGregor revealed his upcoming whiskey brand as ‘Notorious Irish Whiskey’. However, the brand was eventually launched as Proper 12 a year later.
