In the round of 32, Dolehide eased past sixth-seeded Jang Su-jeong 6-2, 6-2. The young American followed that up with another solid performance against Emiliana Arango in the round of 16. Dolehide won the match 6-4, 6-4. She faced a stiff task in the quarterfinals as she was up against third-seed Julia Grabher.
World No. 35 won the match comfortably and some ordinary service games from Grabher helped her. The Austrian only managed a win percent of 40 on the first serve compared to 71 from Dolehide. The match ended 6-2, 6-1 in favor of the youngster.
The head-to-head scoreline currently stands at 1-0 in favor of Sherif.
