Cruel Summer earned great reviews from viewers and critics, receiving accolades in both audiences and critical review. This anthology series follows two friends as their relationship evolves as an unfolding mystery in a small Pacific Northwest town unfolds. Sadie Stanley portrays Megan Landry; Lexi Underwood portrays Isabella; Griffin Gluck portrays Luke; KaDee Strickland portrays Debbie, hard-working single mom; Lisa Yamada portrays Parker (an award-winning musician); Sean Blakemore acts as sheriff (sheriff of their town); viewers wanted further clarity when its conclusion; hopefully sequel would clarify matters; many viewers expected more clarification when its conclusion than did.

Plot

It became a sleeper hit that soon became an impressive success story for Freeform; so much so, that a second season set in an idyllic waterfront town has since been ordered, where new mysteries will unfold.

This season will differ significantly from its predecessor as the show transitions into an anthology format and features new storylines in every episode. Sadie Stanley and KaDee Strickland will return alongside an all-new cast of recurring characters.

A Directors Guild of Canada production list from June 17 indicates the crew has been filming in that location. Season one took place in Skylin but anthology will transport audiences elsewhere throughout the Pacific Northwest.
