Crystal Palace don’t have the greatest players in the Premier League but they do have a few stars like Andros Townsend, Max Meyer, Luka Milivojevic, Wilfried Zaha and a few others. But it’s the Ivorian that they need to keep a hold of especially with China coming in hot for the former Manchester United man.
The Sun has revealed that a Chinese Super League side want Zaha and are willing to offer him somewhere close to £11m-a-season in salary tax-free to convince him to join.
If that happens, all hell will break loose at Selhurst Park since they will lose their one and the only superstar in Wilfried Zaha. The Ivorian has been a revelation since his arrival at Crystal Palace, flourishing due to his dribbling skills and ability to score good goals. While he has had his fair share of critics over the last few seasons, Zaha has remained crucial to the club’s style of play and plans for the future.
But with the Eagles now struggling for survival in the Premier League, maybe the 26-year-old has started to consider his future. The player earns £130,000-a-week but has never hit double figures in goals, last season saw him scoring nine goals and producing a further five assists as he played as the central striker.
However, it saw Zaha’s figures reduce from a combined 18 goals to 14 with him improving his lethality in front of goal. This season, both the Eagles and Zaha have struggled to find the back of the net but the 26-year-old has finally found his footing this season. With 3 goals and 3 assists in his last 10 games, Zaha seems to have broken his drought but unfortunately, Palace have still struggled.
Hence, if they lose one of their top scorers and best players, there is no way they could ever handle that loss, which effectively means relegation.
They’ve only managed to score 17 goals so far and have conceded 26, losing 11 games in the process. While Zaha’s transfer fee would provide the club with a massive influx of cash and fill their war-chest, there are few players available in the world who could be able to get the Eagles’ season back on track.
