Crystal Palace Opinion: Why the Eagles should go all out for Bradley Dack
Back in December 2018, the Sun claimed Crystal Palace were interested in signing Blackburn Rovers playmaker Bradley Dack in the January transfer window.
Bradley Dack, 25, has impressed for Blackburn Rovers in the Championship this season, scoring 12 goals and supplying six assists in 36 outings. He has been fantastic since arriving at Ewood Park from Gillingham in the summer of 2017, helping Rovers earn promotion from the League One last year and winning the League One Player of the Year award.
As Dack continues to sizzle in the Championship, Crystal Palace should not hesitate to reignite their interest and sign the 25-year-old attacker in the summer.
Crystal Palace have struggled to score goals this season, with Roy Hodgson’s side lacking a focal point in attack for majority of the campaign. Before Michy Batshuayi’s arrival on loan from Chelsea in January, Hodgson used Andros Townsend and Wilfried Zaha in a two-pronged attack. That move worked in some decently but often left the midfield exposed which opposition started exploiting.
But since Batshuayi has come in, the Eagles have got a presence up front who can hold the ball up, link-up play and make runs in behind the defenders. Knowing the Belgian will return back to Chelsea at the end of the season, Hodgson should definitely start planning for signing a centre-forward.
However, the former England manager must also eye a creative playmaker, who can create and score goals in equal measure, to ease the burden off Zaha’s shoulders next season.
In that sense, Bradley Dack would be a perfect fit at Selhurst Park as Hodgson’s side need more substance in midfield. His ability to play in various roles across midfield and as a false 9 would make him a key player for the Eagles. An excellent passer of the ball, the 25-year-old has the quality to thread through passes to split defences.
Dack’s vision to pick out a pass will be welcomed by the likes of Zaha and Townsend who thrive when ahead of such players. The former Gillingham man is also a good dribbler and may be the key to unlocking Christian Benteke next season should the big Belgian stay at the club.

Furthermore, he is good with quick one-touch passes in and around the box and his movement during that sequence of play would give Palace a lot of potency up front.
Verdict
Palace will be making a smart investment if they manage to get Dack in the summer. He will be entering the prime very soon and should give Hodgson some much-needed creative spark from next season.
